Belize Trip 2016

We travelled to Belize City Belize in January and enjoyed a great day exploring the Mayan ruins at Cahal Pech near the present day city of San Ignacio. Our tour guide was very full of information as he and some friends actually stumbled across the site whilst playing back in the 1060's. One of his friends fell down a hole that opened up into one of the chambers buried under centuries of soil, debris and jungle growth.

Cruise 2016

We were on a Caribbean Cruise last week and had a great time. Flew from Detroit to Fort Lauderdale for a cruise from Jan 23 to Jan 31. We visited Belize City Belize, Grand Cayman, Roatan Honduras and Cozumel Mexico. The weather was a bit cool and windy but we made the most of it and did lots of shore excursions and had lots of fun onboard the ship. Details to follow in the next few posts

Garden

This little guy sits in our front border and is called an Evening Primrose from the Oenothera Family of plants. Not too fragrant but it looks nice against the white daisies that I'll post later

Garden

Here are a couple of closeups on our Peony bush at the side of the house. The bush gets full sun most of the day and so the bush gets really full every year and the smell is wonderful as you walk to the back of the house into the yard.

This Clematis is intertwined with another vine that covers our arch into the back garden. When we get married, Paul and I will say our vows under this arch.

Garden

This is one our our Clematis plants, the flowers are variegated and are a pale pink with dark veins.

The Garden

And now for the third part of the Blog .... the Garden ... the beautiful area that I call home. At least it is beautiful to me. Please feel free to comment and or copy any of these photos.

Second Life ...

we since the Family Tree seems to have hit a few snags I thought I'd try writing about another topic that has kinda taken over my life of late ... Second Life. Second Life is a global, real time computer game where we have made up avatars (characters) that we have developed to interact with other avatars made up by other people from around the world. In second life your avatar can go dancing at a hot new club in LA one day and tour the ruins of Rome the next, build their own sky house or role play with elves and dwarfs. Definitely a great way to spend a few hours ... days ... weeks LOL

cool new letter

wow ... my Mother just received a letter from one of my Aunts ... she had it for years or one of my other Aunts did. it was addressed to my Grandfather in 1918. it was hand written in fountain pen of course. it had a crest embossed onto the top of the page ... the crest is from Buckingham Palace and was written by King George V.

very very cool

spring has finally arrived

ok so I have not written any thing for several months ....

Well I guess I have some ground to catch up. Still working on the Family Tree and have gone back 5-6 generations depending on the side, paternal or maternal. I still look at Ancestry.uk.co and have also been using MyHeritage Family Tree program as I can upload and then have somebody else add to it. Also I can look at people from myself back or from an ancestor forward.
